Duke Regional Hospital: Serving our community since 1976

Kerry Watson, President

Nurse with patientToday marks an exciting and significant point in the life of Durham Regional Hospital. After more than three decades serving the community’s medical needs, today our name changes to Duke Regional Hospital.

But for us, Duke Regional Hospital is more than a name. It’s a promise.

A promise to deliver exceptional care from expert physicians, to soar on the leading edge of technology and to be the best community hospital in North Carolina.

As we embrace the new name, we remember our decades as a fixture in Durham and surrounding communities. Our new tag line, “Serving our community since 1976,” reflects our hospital’s history and tradition of caring as well as the merging of our predecessor hospitals, Lincoln and Watts. While our name has changed, the personal touch and compassionate care we offer our patients and their loved ones will carry on today and for generations to come.

For more than 35 years, this has been our promise to you.
