Duke Regional Hospital Radiology nurse Jeffry Clarke, RN, CCRN, CRN, has been named to the 2013 list of Great 100 Nurses.
The Great 100 Awards annually acknowledge 100 North Carolina nurses who demonstrate excellence in practice and commitment to their profession. The Great 100, Inc. recognizes the importance of nurses in diverse practice settings and looks for those who positively impact the image of nursing and nursing as a profession.
Part of what led Clarke to be recognized as one of the top 100 nurses in North Carolina is the way he delivers patient care. “I love caring for my patients by practicing a holistic nursing model,” says Clarke. “This allows me to attend to the whole person instead of just his or her medical needs.”
Clarke has been a nurse at Duke Regional since 1983 and has held various responsibilities in a variety of clinical areas including Cardiac Critical Care, Endoscopy and Radiology. For the last 10 years, Clarke has been in the Radiology Department assisting with vascular interventional, CT and ultrasound procedures.
“Working in the same hospital for 30 years has allowed me to establish friendships with many patients and their families,” says Clarke. “I have cared for two and three generations of the same families. Patients love to have a nurse they know and trust.”
