For a no-cholesterol party dip that goes well with many kinds of vegetables and crackers, try this red pepper and spice hummus.
1 can (16 ounces) garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
1 Tablespoon olive oil
1 medium red pepper, cored, seeded and cut into 1/2 inch–long pieces
1 Tablespoon tahini
1 1/2 Tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
Juice from 1 fresh lime
Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth.
